12 - 08 - 03: EDINBURGH: FILM FESTIVAL. It takes 45 minutes walking to get to the cinema where they show the Festival movies for the press (from 9 o'clock a.m.) | |||||||
13 - 08 - 03: EDINBURGH: FRINGE FESTIVAL. I rather prefer ' King Baabu' (Zimbaue's version of ' Ubu Rex' ) that the pretencious Argentinean play 'The last day of Mankind' (unbearable) | |||||||
14 - 08 - 03: EDINBURGH: FILM FESTIVAL. And after been watching the awesome F. Ozon's movie ' Swimming Pool'... a Tom Ka soup in a Thai restaurant. | |||||||
15 - 08 - 03: EDINBURGH: FESTIVAL. Although I don't like concert operas, I have to acknowledge that Wagner's Lohengrin was extraordinarily noisy and I loved it. | |||||||
16 - 08 - 03: EDINBURGH: FESTIVAL. At least, the Brahms Piano Concert No. 1 by C. Zacharias, compensated not having been able to go to Mónica & Sacha's wedding in Sweden. | |||||||
17 - 08 - 03: EDINBURGH: FILM FESTIVAL. As in a dream, at 8'15 am. the city was deserted when we were going to see (up to now) the best movie of the Festival: 'Laurel Canyon' | |||||||
18 - 08 - 03: EDINBURGH: OWN AND OTHER PEOPLE'S WARS. The movie ' Wilbur (wants to kill himself)' left me heartbroken, but the visit to Maggie's Cancer Caring Centre, filled me with hope. | |||||||

26 - 08 - 03: GLASGOW: OWN AND OTHER PEOPLE'S WARS. Before going to the Glasgow Print Studio to sign the edition of the etching 'Hitch', I went to see the new Maggie's building (by Page & Park) | |||||||
27 - 08 - 03: DUNDEE: OWN AND OTHER PEOPLE'S WARS. Faith L. took us to see the new building F. Gehry has designed for Maggie's, (it is his first work in Great Britain) | |||||||

29 - 08 - 03: EDINBURGH: Changes always depress me. Alister, the joiner, is going to retire and closes the DIY store where, from 1977, I found all that I needed. | |||||||
30 - 08 - 03: EDINBURGH: MELA FESTIVAL. And to finish the Festival... a walk around the 'Mela' that was like being in India. | |||||||
